Recently, DSP Media company made an announcement about Heo Youngji's health after she contracted Covid-19.

On September 6, Soompi reported that former KARA girl group member Heo Youngji had to cancel all schedules because of Covid-19.

The announcement from DSP Media said, "Our artist Heo Youngji felt unwell, she tested herself for Covid-19 at home and tested positive. She then quickly did a PCR test and got the same result."

“Currently, Heo Youngji is strictly following the epidemic prevention requirements according to the instructions from the health authorities. All schedules are cancelled. We will follow the guidelines from the disease control agency for the health of the artists and staff. We apologize for causing concern,” DSP Media said.


KARA officially debuted in 2007 under DSP Entertainment. The group has an initial lineup of 4 members, Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, Nicole and Kim Sung Hee. After Kim Sung Hee left, the group added Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung. KARA has achieved much success with hits like "Honey", "Mister".

In 2014, Nicole and Kang Jiyoung ended their contracts with DSP Entertainment and left the group. After that, Heo Youngji was recruited into the group and worked with the remaining 3 members. In 2016, KARA officially announced the disbandment.
